Unpacked

The journey is over and the altered book is almost complete.   Just the cover to do - unless of course you've already done it!

I had some pages left over when I got to the end of the daily prompts and you can see what I did with those pages on NewlyCreative.

This is the inside of the back cover.

Do you remember covering your text books at school?  Well this is exactly the same.  I used an old map which I cut to the size of the book plus extra to fold in.  I cut diagonally at the spine and cut the pieces out.

I folded the map over the edges and then folded a triangle so I knew what to cut off.  You don't want bulky corners.

I stuck the map down with double-sided tape and then stuck the back page to the back cover.  I did the same with the front.

Here's the map attached to the book.

I made a tag to put on the front using the tutorial that Nicky provided for 12 Months in View. You can see how I made it on my blog. I used some letters from my stash for the title.

Thank you so much for following along with Passport to Art.  It's been great fun.  I will be showing the whole of my book on NewlyCreative tomorrow.

Day 27: The Seekers

Quote
The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.              Saint Augustine

Bible Verse
Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.         Psalm 119:35

Inspiration
The Seekers  John Masefield

FRIENDS and loves we have none, nor wealth nor blessed abode,
But the hope of the City of God at the other end of the road.

Not for us are content, and quiet, and peace of mind,
For we go seeking a city that we shall never find.

There is no solace on earth for us--for such as we--
Who search for a hidden city that we shall never see.

Only the road and the dawn, the sun, the wind, and the rain,
And the watch fire under stars, and sleep, and the road again.

We seek the City of God, and the haunt where beauty dwells,
And we find the noisy mart and the sound of burial bells.

Never the golden city, where radiant people meet,
But the dolorous town where mourners are going about the street.

We travel the dusty road till the light of the day is dim,
And sunset shows us spires away on the world's rim.

We travel from dawn to dusk, till the day is past and by,
Seeking the Holy City beyond the rim of the sky.

Friends and loves we have none, nor wealth nor blest abode,
But the hope of the City of God at the other end of the road.
